Xiaomi cut corners to make a processor with a high price but still be affordable is most evident in the Poco X3 Pro camera. It’s larger than the Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra, or even the closer-in-price 21.9 aspect Moto G 5G Plus. This means that you won’t receive the Xiaomi Poco X3 Pro Snapdragon 860 chipset free of charge. The 8MP Ultrawide as expected does not retain a ton of details but when it comes to backlit scenarios, then X3 Pro starts to struggle. Sometimes the lens manages to retain good colors, while sometimes it fails to capture good colors.

Anyone reading this should keep in mind that software, like design, is more of a subjective matter, and so what I might not like, someone might love. But no phone can be perfect and if it is, then there will be nothing to innovate on. And Xiaomi has to innovate on its software in my opinion. To my surprise, Xiaomi changed the setup and on paper, it looks like Xiaomi gimped with smaller lenses.

In general, compared to the Poco X3 NFC, the phone has slightly risen in price, but this is a widespread trend, and the rise in price is often justified. Now  we have 6 GB of RAM and 128 GB of storage, whereas for last year’s X3 NFC these were the maximum possible numbers. Sure, the cameras aren’t on par with the regular X3 and the device misses out on 5G, but Xiaomi isn’t targeting those attributes with the POCO X3 Pro.
